DNS AutoSlave takes the difficulty out of integrating DurableDNS with an existing system that manages DNS, for example a web hosting control panel like cPanel or Plesk.
With DNS AutoSlave enabled, DurableDNS will listen for NOTIFY packets from your DNS server that are sent to “notify.alwaysdnsllc.com”.
When DurableDNS receives the first NOTIFY packet for a zone, the system will automatically provision a new DNS zone and download the records for that zone.

DurableDNS supports most DNS record types. See the below list of supported types:

	* A -- Address Record -- Most commonly used to map hostnames to an IPv4 address of the host.

A DNS zone is a portion of the global DNS namespace for which administrative responsibility has been delegated. In most cases, your DNS zone is your domain name (i.e. example.com)

When creating a new DNS zone at DurableDNS you need to provide the following information (in most cases the default values are acceptable):

Dynamic update enables DNS client computers to register and dynamically update their DNS records with a DNS server whenever changes occur.
This reduces the need for manual administration of zone records, especially for clients that frequently move or change locations and use DHCP to obtain an IP address.

DNS zones can be imported in to DurableDNS from an existing DNS server. This is accomplished using a AXFR record. Your existing DNS server must support AXFR transfers and must allow AXFR transfers from the following IP addresses: 209.123.162.225, 209.123.162.226.

DNS zone templates allow you to create a template from which DNS zones can be created. After you have created a zone template, you can create zones one-at-a-time based on the template, or you can create zones in bulk by uploading list of zones.

Creating a DNS zone template is just like creating a DNS zone. Refer to the DNS Zone documentation for more information.
